Hi Guys,

Sorry I haven't been on here for a while but I've been good, really good for about 12 months. The mix of Methotrexate 15mg inj and 200mg Hydroxychloraquinine work really well.

Over the last week I have developed a itchy rash on my hands, palms and fingers AND oral thrush, sore throat and cracks at the side of my mouth! Hurts and annoying as hell!

Could this be the Methotrexate? I have heard that it can be a side effect but its not a nice one. I cant drink a hot coffee as it burns my sore tongue or open my mouth to drink it. Ive lived on luke warm soup from a teaspoon!

I hope everyone else is enjoying this hot weather and your joints are benefitting!

I think it is MTX and you you should talk to your Rheumy Nurse or GP as soon as you can. Maybe they can prescribe some meds for the side effects - certainly the oral thrush which is a bugger. :(

Hexham - Northumberland - Loads of spectacular walks - all I need now are the joints to go with them! :)

Sorry its taken so long to get back to you all.

Its been manic... as usual. My GP took blood and tested me for Vit B12 deficiency guess what??? Yep you are right, came back under the recommended 160-180, whatever that means! I was offered injections (3 a week for 2 weeks then 1 every 3 months) or tablets, I opted for tablets BUT they dont like me, nausea and tummy problems, so I stopped them and rang GP who arranged for me to have another blood test on Fri 13th! Yay...

Meanwhile my achilles tendon flared up again after a trip to A&E I hobbled home to get dressed up for my daughters 21st birthday bash - looked stunning with my dress and bandage on!

My mouth is even sorer (if thats a word) and has started cracking at the sides, I cant open my mouth to bite an apple! I feel like I should be put down! Every time I am feeling better something else reaches up and grabs me down again!

But thats what we get for being special...isnt it???!!!

Hope you are ok (ish) Jenni you do make me giggle! Keep it up please!

My joints are agreeing with you Paul - Summer is over!

Lxxx
